CRAZINESS!!!

I was driving to meet my Momma for some yummy Mexican, and this is what I saw:

I thought "how freakin' crazy, if it gets any worse I am going to buy a horse and buggy, I am totally going to blog about this" I met my mother and ate and then shopped ( don't you just love when Mother's are in the buying mood?) I am driving back towards work and I see this!!!! :

It went up again!!!!! I am not sure how much we can take people!!! Looks like I am going to be riding to work with the Amish down road!!!!

P.S. I know it is worse in Cali. but the cost of living is much less here!! I can't imagine how y'all are doing it!

Schools Out!

Its official, It summer in KY. The Girls got out of school on Friday. Lily was in Kindergarten and Hannah was in 2nd grade. My little Lily learned to read this year and made lots of friends. Her teacher was a man which at first she was not happy about. By the end of the year she LOVED him. She also whipped the neighbor boy for calling her stupid. I was oddly proud. Hannah overcame problems in the classroom this year and came out a better girl. And the neighbor kids no better then to mess with her. These are defiantly my girls!!

Where has time gone? They were just born, I swear!!! Colin will be starting Kindergarten next year!!! While we were at the girls awards programs we passed the principles office. Colin Said " What's in there?" I explained to him and said " don't worry, I have the feeling you will see the inside of that room" :) I joke about my kids being so spirited but I wouldn't change it. My kids will be ready for this world when they set out into it, and when it is the Thomas 3 against the world.... WORLD YOU BETTER WATCH OUT!

Here is a picture of Lily with her teacher Mr. Pate. Hannah said she didn't want one with hers. Colin is in the back with Camo on.

Yard Sale!

On Saturday my sweet little Girl Scout troop had a yard sale ( Do y'all do Yard Sales in Cali? ) and lemonade stand to raise money for the troop. I love these girls!! The troop consists of My Girls, Hannah and Lily, Hannah's best friend, Olivia and her sister Savannah. Savannah reminds me so much of me when I was her age. Its a small troop but we have so much fun together. After the yard sale we all went to a Hockey game and then to see " Prince Caspian" . It was a long day but we had a blast, and I totally recommend "Prince Caspian"!!

Here are my sweet little scouts:

Spring Time

I love Kentucky in the spring time! It stays in the 70's, the flowers bloom and the kids get to go outside and work off energy!!!

All the flowers outside our house are blooming so my allergies are going nuts but the house looks fabulous. I am one of those strange Kentuckians that never wants to move away. I did once, and though I met some girls that I will love always, I NEVER want to leave again. I guess it's true what they say, "Home is where the Heart is"
Lots of craziness going on this week. Hannah and Lily's girl scout troop is having a yard sale. Since I am the leader that means my weekend is going to be filled with giggling girls.
Also Work is nuts as ALWAYS and I have been working after hours some.
Hopefully I will have something more fun to Blog about soon. Life has been nothing but work work work. :(
Have a blessed week y'all!!!!

Happy Mothers Day!

I got this sweet little e-mail today and wanted to share it with some of my favorite "Moms"

I Heart you guys!

MOTHERS and MOMS
Remembering special moms for Mother's Day:This is for the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up barf laced with Oscar Mayer wieners and cherry Kool-Aid saying, 'It's okay honey, Mommy's here.'Who have sat in rocking chairs for hours on end soothing crying babies who can't be comforted.
This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse. For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies and sew Halloween costumes. And all the mothers who DON'T.This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and gave them homes. This is for the mothers whose priceless art collections are hanging on their refrigerator doors.
And for all the mothers who froze their buns on metal bleachers at football or soccer games instead of watching from the warmth of their cars. And that when their kids asked, 'Did you see me, Mom?' they could say, 'Of course, I wouldn't have missed it for the world,' and mean it.This is for all the mothers who yell at their kids in the grocery store and swat them in despair when they stomp their feet and scream for ice cream before dinner. And for all the mothers who count to ten instead, but realize how child abuse happens.
This is for all the mothers who sat down with their children and explained all about making babies. And for all the (grand)mothers who wanted to, but just couldn't find the words.
This is for all the mothers who go hungry, so their children can eat.For all the mothers who read 'Goodnight, Moon' twice a night for a year. And then read it again, 'Just one more time.'This is for all the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoelaces before they started school. And for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead. This is for all the mothers who teach their sons to cook and their daughters to sink a jump shot. This is for every mother whose head turns automatically when a little voice calls 'Mom?' in a crowd, even though they know their own offspring are at home -- or even away at college -- or have their own families. This is for all the mothers who sent their kids to school with stomach aches, assuring them they'd be just FINE once they got there, only to get calls from the school nurse an hour later asking them to please pick them up. Right away. This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who can't find the words to reach them. For all the mothers who bite their lips until they bleed when their 14 year olds dye their hair green.
For all the mothers of the victims of those who did the shooting. For the mothers of the survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came home from school, safely. This is for all the mothers who taught their children to be peaceful, and now pray they come home safely from a war. What makes a good mother anyway? Is it patience? Compassion? Broad hips? The ability to nurse a baby, cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same time?Or is it in her heart? Is it the ache she feels when she watches her son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time? The jolt that takes her from sleep to dread, from bed to crib at 2 A.M. to put her hand on the back of a sleeping baby?
The panic, years later, that comes again at 2 A.M. when she just wants to hear their key in the door and know they are safe again in her home?Or the need to flee from wherever she is and hug her child when she hears news of a fire, a car accident, a child dying? The emotions of motherhood are universal and so our thoughts are for young mothers stumbling through diaper changes and sleep deprivation....And for mature mothers learning to let go.For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers.Single mothers and married mothers.Mothers with money, mothers without. This is for you all. For all of us...Hang in there. In the end we can only do the best we can. Tell them every day that we love them. And pray and never stop being a mother....Please pass along to all the mothers in your life.'Home is what catches you when you fall - and we all fall.'

Homecoming 2008

Every year at my Grandmothers church they have a huge Homecoming the 1st weekend in May. OH MY! There is nothing better then a country homecoming. Those little old country ladies tear it up in the kitchen! This year did not disappoint! Deviled eggs, fried corn, fried chicken and corn cakes galore!! Afterwards my sister and I and our families always walk down to the cemetery which is down and old country lane. Lot of memories at that church. As it is now it is the only time I step inside a church each year :)
Jason and I went on a much needed date Sat. night. We went to dinner and saw Iron Man. The movie was good. I just enjoyed some time with my " Big Daddy".

Here are some pictures, I hope y'all had a awesome weekend!
